For a long time we deliberately chose not to try and compete on google by optimizing our site for the highly competitive ‘SEO’ niche on Google.

There were several reasons for this, I think, looking back now, it was partly (for me) my lack of confidence that I really COULD compete in this highly skilled market online.

A few weeks ago, we decided it was time to really put ourselves out there, so we optimised the LinxHurricane site, and within a couple of weeks it was up there on page one for the keyword “SEO services“, against 35 million competing pages.

How awesome is that!

Since then, we’ve been making great inroads on several other related keywords.

We are totally chuffed at these awesome results.

We just came back from a weekend with Andrew and Daryl Grant attending their “look inside the grants internet business” seminar. Not only did they give detailed step by step instructions on how to duplicate some of their business strategies, the guest speakers were amazing.

We learnt great stuff from Yaro Starak, Janet Beckers, Greg Cassar, Darren Stephens and more.

The best part was being with a bunch of really great people, the ‘experts’ made themselves freely available for one-on-one conversations, and we  managed to talk to several of them over the four days.

We highly recommend this to anyone looking for GOOD information to help them to succeed online.

Today  I received and email from an SEO Optimization specialist offering a service that provides translation and optimisation into other languages. I was fascinated by this and found myself wondering about the value of such a service.

I think depending on the type of website, this sort of optimization has enourmous potential. I wonder how many great websites are being missed out on by people who have only one language (not english)?

Worth some thought.

I’ve been doing Search Engine Optimization for some time now – though continually learning more and more, I find my ability to get high rankings for my client to be a lot of fun and relatively easy.

Recently there was an interesting incident with a client of ours through (LinxHurricane) that had paid a ‘SEO specialist’ to redesign his site some time back. The site was on about page 20 of Google when we took it on, and is now ranking on page 1 for over 15 keywords (good ones too!).

So I asked if it was ok for us to put our link on his site – “sure – go ahead” he said.

Well – the proverbial s..t hit the fan – the guy who had done the redesign called our client and gave him a really hard time- demanded that we remove our link or he would have us prosecuted for “misleading advertising” etc etc.

OMG – you have got to be kidding right? This guys name is now MUD with the client. Great way to do business huh?
